Welcome to the Technology, Innovation & the Future of the Creative Curriculum Conference 2026.

Thursday July 9, 2026 12:45pm - 1:15pm BST
This paper will have two distinct foci, given that it presents two different responses to activity concerning AI and HE creative disciplines from within Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Firstly, having established initial guidelines regarding the use of AI in student assessments a couple of years ago, Guildhall School recently embarked upon formulating a wider institutional response to AI for teaching, learning and assessment, research, administration, creative innovation, student support, other professional services. This paper will outline the work that has taken place as well as articulating some of the discussions and use cases to date within the institution.

Secondly, the paper will seek to put local responses in the context of wider HE practices by presenting an overview of feedback from a hybrid roundtable event on AI in HE Creative Disciplines that was convened at Guildhall on 3 December 2025 and included participants from over 29 different universities and arts institutions.
