About me
Evan Dickerson SFHEA has enjoyed a career of over 30 years in higher education; he initially lectured in Fine Art and Art History, before turning to learning technology in the late 1990s.Currently, he is the Learning Technologist at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he has worked since 2021. He has overseen a significant expansion in the strategic use of technologies for teaching, learning and assessment, particularly Moodle in both the breadth and depth of its integration with the curriculum. Evan sits on the Education Strategy Committee and co-chairs the School's AI steering group to play a pivotal role in shaping AI-related policies and delivering advice, guidance and support for staff and students.Evan is on the national steering group for the UK Heads of eLearning Forum and the London region M25 Learning Technology group for the Association for Learning Technology. He has presented many conference papers and contributed four book chapters on learning technology topics published by or in press with Routledge, Sussex Open Press and Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH, as well as being an internationally published writer on classical music and opera. A current passion project is co-editing a book titled "Technologies and the Creative Disciplines: Approaches and Practice in Higher Education". (pub. Routledge 2027 tbc).
